Stan and his family have lived in the western suburbs since 1979. He has been active in civic and community affairs since college days when he was an intern recommended to the City of Carbondale by the Dean of the School of Communications, Southern Illinois University. Stan has served his community as an elected official in several capacities over the past 20 years.

Prior to moving to Montgomery, Stan was an elected Trustee of the Batavia Public Library District. He also was elected and re-elected Precinct Committeeman of Batavia Township Precinct 20. Now, in Montgomery, Stan currently holds elective office as Precinct Committeeman for Sugar Grove Township 2 (western Montgomery) and he is Watch Area Leader of the Fairfield Way | Foxmoor Neighborhood Watch.

Stan was elected Village of Montgomery Trustee April 5th, 2011 and sworn in May 9th, 2011. Re-elected in 2015. Stan founded MontgomeryMatters.org, a community service website offering information of public and commercial interest to the Montgomery area. He also provides free e-mailing lists designed to serve residents of the Cambridge Foxmoor, Fairfield Way and Lakewood Creek subdivisions. He frequently attends public meetings and is active in his neighborhood. Stan is a founding member of the Fairfield Way | Foxmoor Neighborhood Watch and received a Certification of Training from the National Neighborhood Watch Institute. In August 2011, the two year old Fairfield Way | Foxmoor Neighborhood Watch placed third in national National Sheriff’s Association award competition.

Various technology and project coordination assignments related to implementation of the new Odyssey Judicial Case Management System and related components including development of electronic civil case filing, electronic traffic citation systems, debt collection, email database use and management, electronic bond payment and more.

Chief Deputy Clerk at Kane County Clerk’s Office December 2011 to February 2015. The Kane County Clerk’s office is responsible for Vital Records (Marriage and Civil Union, Passports, Death and Birth Certificates), tax extension and tax redemption services and all public elections. The County Clerk is also the official clerk and custodian of many county documents including ordinances, resolutions, meeting minutes and some contractual agreements.

Public Information Officer at City of Carbondale, IL (Government Agency; 51-200 employees; Public Policy industry) 1970 – 1972 (2 years) Student Intern from Southern Illinois University, duties were to improve external and internal communications processes, to establish personal relations with Carbondale citizens, as individuals or groups, in order to find out their views on what the City government can do to make its services more effective. Wrote and produced Annual Report for the City of Carbondale, Guide to City Services and All America City Award application to the National Municipal League. The application for All-America City Award competition was successful earning Carbondale a chance to compete on the national stage in its class. Carbondale won the national competition and Stan was hired full time as Public Information Officer by the City of Carbondale. During that time he developed new logo and identity graphics for the City of Carbondale (still used today) and worked on several industrial development projects including the City’s Industrial Park and the initial siting and bond issuance for Cedar Lake Water Reservoir. Worked with City Manager Bill Schmidt, Assistant City Manager Jerry Maxwell, Mayor Neil Eckert and Robert Stahl of the Housing and Urban Development Administration Model Cities program.
