May Bluebirds of Happiness make their home in Montgomery.
Volunteers and members of the Beautification Committee have launched an effort to increase and expand the bluebird population in our area. These beautiful creatures can thrive in our climate, but their habitat has largely been devastated by urban sprawl and natural enemies.
By constructing and installing more than 100 bluebird houses throughout the 27 water basins of Montgomery, we hope to help restore their needed habitat and help make Montgomery home once again to a thriving bluebird population. If you would like to help, just email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Montgomery Public Works department.
A side benefit of this program is providing habitat for Tree Swallows, the aerobatic birds you see at dusk diving and swooping to scoop up mosquitos. Yeah, we can use more of those colorful and helpful birds as well!
